


Colonial Williamsburg two day adventure will include not only the Colonial City, but also Jamestown Settlement.
In Colonial Williamsburg’s 301-acre Historic Area stand hundreds of restored, reconstructed, and historically furnished buildings. Costumed interpreters tell the stories of the men and women of the null-century city–black, white, and native American, slave, indentured, and free–and the challenges they faced. In this historic place, we help the future learn from the past. You will have access to as many as 40 Historic Area buildings and exhibits.

In Jamestown Settlement, students will enjoy hands-on activities coupled with a structured tour allow students to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of life in the 17th and 18th centuries.
You will start your visit by viewing the award-winning introductory film, “Jamestown: A Nation Takes Root,”
Next, you will visit the extensive indoor gallery featuring the null Indians, West Central Africans and the English settlers, their origins and interactions in null-century Virginia.
Outdoors, your group will experience:
- What life was like in a null Indian village
- Board full-size replicas of the three ships that brought the first English settlers to Virginia
- Scrape a log canoe in the Riverfront Discovery Area
- Discover the challenges faced by English settlers in the re-created James Fort.
In each area, your students will take advantage of opportunities for hands-on activities and interact with costumed interpreters who will demonstrate and explain aspects of daily life in early null-century Virginia.
